Meribel is famed, second only to its skiing, for its fine dining culture and no trip would be complete without a visit to at least one of its lavish dining spots.
Unsurprisingly, the resort as a whole is well and truly packed with outstanding restaurants and eateries for those with a taste for the very best produce the region has to offer. Here, you can discover world-renowned establishments with a reputation for serving up truly spectacular dishes.
So, if you’re finding yourself a little spoilt for choice and would like a friendly nudge in the right direction, be sure to visit any of the following Meribel restaurants for the region’s most extraordinary dining opportunities.
Best Restaurants for: Luxurious Fine Dining
The first restaurants come under the fine dining category. Think culinary delicacies washed down by something from the impressive wine list. All enjoyed in the most magical of settings;
La Fruitière Meribel
Kicking off with an outright winner in its own right, La Fruitière occupies a rather majestic plot along the La Saulire gondola at the mid-station. The restaurant itself is headed by Franck Mischler and is decked out in rather flamboyant décor. From the tiled walls to the bright white tables, it’s a real eye-catcher to say the least.
Mischler made his name concocting an array of outstanding traditional French and Savoyard dishes – most of which are classic recipes with a distinctly 21st century twist. It’s a largely pork and beef affair, with local organic produce forming the basis of all that’s on offer.
Far from a cheap lunch, but delivers surprisingly generous servings.
Open during the Summer and Winter seasons and lunch is available at 12:30 and 14:30. Booking is recommended.
Address: Intermediare Burgin Saulire
La Bouitte Meribel
Considered far and wide to be categorically one of the best restaurants in the world, La Bouitte is nothing less than the jewel in Meribel’s already oversubscribed crown.
Having recently been awarded its third Michelin Star…and quite rightly too…La Bouitte brings lovers of fine food from all over the world into Meribel simply for a taste of what’s on offer. Less a restaurant and more something of a gastronomic opera that unfolds before your eyes, La Bouitte represents a seriously lavish splurge price-wise but is one that’s worth every penny and more.
Only the best of seasonal produce is used, with ultimate respect given to ingredients. Chefs René and Maxime Meilleur are passionate about where their food comes from and love delighting diners with exquisite dishes. An 8 course tasting menu comes in at €325.
Address: Hameau de St Marcel, 73440, Saint-Martin de Belleville
Incredibly popular and for a very good reason, Helios Restaurant in Hotel l’Helios in Méribel Centre really does have it all. From the cosy open log fire by which to watch the sunset, to the best desserts in town. These guys have struck gold with the recipe for pure dining perfection and made it their own.
Chef Michael Aurey and his team take pride in crafting original recipes, that take Savoyard specialities to another level. Helios is all about serving up the most unashamedly gourmet treats, the likes of which are teetering on the brink or perfection. Main courses start at around €27.
Try the Milanese style veal medallion with hazelnut gravy, roasted pumpkin, fresh tagliatelle and tomatoes. Heavenly!
Dinner is available from 19:30 to 21:30.

Chez Kiki Meribel
Anyone with a taste for high-quality grilled meats should give the Chez Kiki restaurant a try, which for over five decades now has been giving the region a lesson on how to grill steaks to perfection.

The friendly owners even offer private events if you’re celebrating a special occasion.
The restaurant is closed during the Summer season, opening again in December.

Le Cepe Meribel
Falling just short of a Michelin star, Le Cepe is by all means a fantastic spot for dinner. As the name suggests, mushrooms are the star of the show here, but the fresh seafood from the surrounding lakes and gourmet traditional dishes are just as delectable.
