Three Valleys Ski Holidays

There’s much more to the Three Valleys than meets the eye…

The Three Valleys is one of the most prestigious and popular ski areas in the world, home to a number of world class resorts. Nestled in the heart of the French Alps, against a backdrop of spectacular snow-covered scenery, Les Trois Vallées is held in high esteem even among the most expert skiers.

If the sound of varied slopes isn’t enough to tempt you, the allure of the welcoming atmosphere and vast entertainment options should draw you in. Here’s just a glimpse at why Three Valleys skiing is the perfect choice for your holiday.

A Closer Look at the Three Valleys, France

France is home to a great number of ski areas and resorts, making it one of the most infamous Alpine getaways.

Within this, Les Trois Vallées stands out in its own right, not only because of its size. The area becomes a home away from home for many skiers year after year.

There are a huge number of reasons for this popularity. From the endless amounts of winding pistes, all with varying difficulties, to the electric array of bars and restaurants – the Three Valleys can offer the perfect all-round ski holiday.

Home to no less than eight resorts, each with its own unique qualities, this region of Savoie is completely transformed in the winter months. These resorts are:

Bride les Bains
Val Thorens
Saint Martin de Belleville
Courchevel
Méribel
La Tania
Les Menuires
Orelle

Among this, Val Thorens is the highest. In fact, this resort takes the title of the highest ski resort in Europe!

Another exciting aspect of the area is that it is partly found within the Vanoise National Park, which can be enjoyed by those who visit, particularly in the warmer months. Méribel, in the Three Valleys, is just one resort that comes to life in the summer.

Those who visit, even just once, make memories for life. But, there’s so much to see and do – it often requires multiple trips. Thanks to the wide range of exciting activities, each and every holiday is different – but equally unforgettable.

The Three Valleys Ski Area

What’s in store for those who visit Les Trois Vallées?

Les Trois Vallées is the world’s largest linked ski area. This sounds impressive on the surface, and is even more so when you dig a little deeper.

When visiting this mountainous region, you’ll be able to take advantage of 600km of pistes, all served by over 160 ski lifts.

To give you the best experience possible with us, your lift passes will be included in the price of the chalet! These will be waiting for you on arrival. Photographs are no longer required for lift passes, however passport copies are necessary for family passes, under 5s and over 65s.

Three Valleys Piste Map

The Three Valleys piste map is made up of 53 green, 136 blue, 113 red, and 35 black downhill ski runs. On top of this, fans of venturing off-piste are also catered to, with many winding territories just waiting to be explored. You can view the Three Valleys ski map in its full glory here.

The sheer magnitude of this area gives even the most expert skiers an unforgettable experience.

Exploring the Three Valleys, France

The ski area caters to everyone, ensuring all of its guests are looked after. Those just finding their feet on their skis have plenty of gentle slopes to grow their confidence. Meanwhile, intermediates have a number cruising runs to help take their abilities to the next level.

Those looking for a challenge are sure to find it. There are a number of steep, long runs that would test the skills of even the most practiced skiers. The famous Combe Vallon is just one of these.

If anyone in your group enjoys showing off and pushing their skills to the limit, many parks and half pipes are available for use. These are appropriate for a great number of visitors – including snowboarders, free skiers and even children.

Three Valleys Skiing – Snow Cover

Where would this area be without good snow cover? Luckily, this region of the Alps can boast great snowfall, with many of its resorts staying open late into the year. This is thanks to the high altitude and North-facing slopes found all over the Three Valleys ski area. As well as this, the Three Valleys’ weather is perfect for skiing!

Despite this, to ensure the skiers have the best experience possible, 2,100 snow cannons can be found across all the Three Valleys resorts. This counteracts the problem of any lacking areas of snowfall! Particularly in the later months, such as April, this is a welcome feature.

Your Holiday in the Trois Vallées

Everything needed for an unforgettable Alpine getaway…

Great skiing isn’t all this infamous ski area has to offer! While the slopes are the main attraction, the best holidays are those which offer the all-round experience.

So, once it gets dark, what can you expect from your trip?

If the slopes were all this ski area had to boast about, it wouldn’t be known as one of the most prestigious places in the Alps.

Whichever resort you choose, the après scene is renowned for being some of the best in France. This is why many ski festivals choose here as the place for some high-altitude musical entertainment.

But, even when there are no festivals under way, the Three Valleys won’t disappoint.

The number of bars, restaurants and clubs is enormous – far too many to visit on one trip! Thanks to the wide range, there’s something to suit everyone. This makes it the perfect place to party with your friends VIP-style!

Some guests prefer to relax with a glass of champagne in a cosy bar after a long day on the slopes. Others find that the best way to let their hair down is dancing until the early hours. Both can find something to suit them, as can everyone in between!

Each resort has something to offer to guests, creating luxury ski holidays with ease. Méribel nightlife in particular is known for being some of the best in the Alps.

The ski area has also made a name for itself as being great for younger skiers too. Plenty of family-friendly activities and entertainment options can be found in every resort! These keep the children occupied, giving the adults some much-needed respite.

If, one day you fancy trying something a little different, skiing isn’t the only winter sport on offer. A great number of exciting, thrilling activities are available for you to try, giving you the chance to experience the snow in a new way. This includes sledding and snowshoeing.
