Women’s Alpine Ski World Cup – 21st/22nd December 2018
So, it’s not exactly a Christmas event itself, but it’s certainly worth getting excited about. On the last weekend before Christmas, Courchevel is host to some of the most illustrious female skiers in the world for the 9th Women’s Alpine World Cup.
Put it in your diary, this is going to be huge!
Christmas Enchanted Week – 23rd/24th/25th December 2018
This is one for the families. Christmas Enchanted Week is the highlight of any festive trip to Courchevel. Think Santa on skis, elves dancing through the resort and infinite amounts of Christmas magic.
Expect fire displays, live entertainment and one of the best atmospheres you’ll ever experience in a ski resort.
This is not to be missed!
Millet Ski Touring – 26th December 2018
If you’re into ski touring, you’ll know all about the Millet Ski Touring event. The vertical race event is building popularity with every year that passes and attracts more than 14,000 participants in its three month long run time.
The event itself will kick-off on the 26th December and runs through till the 20th March where it crescendos in a fancy dress finale.
Ladies’ Night – 27th December 2018
Shortly after the Women’s Alpine Ski World Cup, Ladies’ Night takes the limelight in Courchevel. This overnight ski competition attracts some of the most talented women in the French Ski Federation and showcases some awe-inspiring downhill skiers. Grab your gloves, scarves and wrap up tight, it gets pretty chilly in Courchevel at night.
New Year’s Eve Dance Party – 31st December 2018
Bring out the dancing shoes and indulge in one of the most exhilarating New Years parties you’ll ever visit. Courchevel is home to a FREE behemoth of a party to end 2018 in the only way we know how!

What’s Happening in Meribel this Christmas & New Year?

Here’s what’s happening in Meribel this Christmas and New Year:
Carol Singing – 20th/24th December 2018
Meribel’s very own choir will be taking to Les Allues on the 20th December and Meribel Centre on Christmas Eve to bring some festive cheer to skiers. There’ll be mulled wine handed out to anyone who needs a little liquid courage before joining in the singing.
Christmas Eve Mass – 24th December 2018
The traditional Christmas Eve mass will be held in the ice-rink on 24th December 2018 at 6.50pm. This is a must for anyone who enjoys the formalities of the festive season as much as the drinking, eating and being merry.
The Torchlight Descent – 24th December 2018
The traditional ski instructor torchlight descent will take place on Christmas Eve from 5.15pm at the Meribel Mottaret centre. This will be followed shortly by an impressive firework display.
Santa Claus is Coming to Town – 24th December 2018
The big man in red will arrive on his horse-drawn sleigh in Meribel on the 24th December with presents for visitors. He’ll be joined by a colourful parade for the children. He will be at the Meribel centre at 4.30pm and will then move on to the Mottaret centre between 5pm and 7pm.
New Years Celebrations – 31st December 2018
Meribel is awash with bars and clubs hosting their own distinct party to send off 2018 with. Most will be ticketed entry, so we recommend planning in advance to be sure to guarantee your place.
The centre of Meribel is the spot to be at midnight though. Plenty of people will gather to watch the fireworks, countdown to 2019, embrace and set off firecrackers of their own.
