Food & Drink Shopping

Chez Ma Cousine is better suited to those with an equally strong passion for food. It’s technically a delicatessen but it’s actually more like a museum to truly incredible local produce. Grab an assortment of meats and cheeses, pack a bottle of wine and the picnic of your dreams awaits!

Chez Le Gaulois is also nothing short of legendary among discerning foodies – just be sure to clear a little space in your refrigerator as you will not be leaving empty handed!

Souvenirs with a Difference

Kids and adults alike will fall in love with the traditional toys and teddies on offer at La Cabane De L’ours, which makes a brilliant gift shop for those looking to take a few things home.

Ski Shops in Courchevel

Sports shops represent the main order of the day across most of Courchevel in general, with every imaginable international brand available in abundance. It’s not uncommon to find the same gear in 1850 being offered at a considerably lower price a little further down the mountain, so be sure to shop around if you’d prefer not to overspend.

L’Atelier ski shop has earned a well-deserved reputation for being the place to head if you take your snowsports seriously. These guys really do know what they’re talking about and dole out not only the best advice in town, but ultra-premium equipment and accessories.

You can also visit Quicksilver and Ripcurl for all of your ski wear essentials.

Local Markets in Courchevel

One serious highlight is the local market, which takes place at Courchevel 1850 and 1650 once a week (check timings before your trip).

Limited to a select contingency of no more than about 20 stalls, you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice with incredible local meats, cheeses and sweets – not to mention a fair amount of clothing from local and international designers alike.

Shop Opening Times

Bear in mind that French shop opening times can vary from the UK or elsewhere.

Most shops open at around 9am and close for the evening at 7pm, but don’t be surprised by the extended break between 12pm and 3pm most choose to take! Luckily, lots of shops re-open around 7.30pm to cater for the evening crowd.

Where to Stop for Lunch

A full day of sifting through the rails can work up an appetite. Luckily, there are plenty of sophisticated spots to grab a light meal or to take a more leisurely break.

As well as excellent mountain restaurants, Courchevel boasts an impressive collection of high-end eateries within the resort itself. Try the two Michelin star Chabichou for exquisite gastronomic masterpieces almost as beautiful as the finest Couture.
