Alpine Infusion has
its own portfolio of private ski instructors who are
bookable in advance, however Méribel has a wide
selection of ski schools for skiers and snowboarders
of every level and all age groups. We strongly
recommend that you book lessons in advance of your
holiday as they are very popular and often have few
remaining places available on arrival in resort.
This is particularly essential over the school and
peak holiday periods.
Private ski lessons with David Lindsey
David is a
certified French, English and New Zealand instructor who
has taught skiing all over the world. He is the son of
Peter Lindsay, considered to be the “founder” of Méribel,
who started the resort in 1936.
David runs
a number of 3 and 6 day ski courses during the season.
These are for “reasonably capable” off-piste skiers and
those who are keen to ski off-piste, discover more of
the 3 Valleys and have an “OK” level of fitness. The
courses have a balanced mixture of technique, video
analysis and lots of skiing both on-piste and off-piste
(as conditions allow). The atmosphere is fun, friendly
and informal but with a real enthusiasm for the sport
and the mountains.

Group Lessons with
Magic in Motion Snowsports Academy
Delighting clients
since 1992, Magic is an independent school owned and run
by an Anglo-French team. Their group lessons are
conducted in English and are small to ensure optimal
attention and motivation. Helmet covers are provided to
easily identify children (colour coded by level) and
children’s groups are split not only by level, but also
by age. For the Little Ones (aged 4-5), they have the
safe and secure ‘Magic Garden’ with its own private
Magic Carpet (travelator lift) and a chalet with music.
There is also a qualified teaching assistant present to
assist the instructor for the first few days.
They are proud that
their Kids Fun Factory is probably the best-loved
product for children: combining 3 or 4 long mornings
plus 2 full days with lunch in a mountain restaurant
(included in the price), a treasure hunt, timed runs,
freestyle and jumps on a bouncy big air bag. Aspiring
champions will love the Race Academy where one of the
trainers competed in the 2010 Olympics.
Adult Group Lessons
incorporate intensive tuition with only 4-7 pupils and
include a ‘day off’ to allow a deserved lie-in and/or to
ski with friends plus a longer morning to round off the
week on a high. Examples of some of the type of group
